Miner injured at southern Illinois mine

COULTERVILLE, IL (KFVS) -

A Peabody Energy spokesperson says a car operator was injured Tuesday afternoon at Gateway Mine in Randolph County near Coulterville.

The car operator was hit by a rock, according to a spokesperson.

The worker was taken to a local hospital for evaluation.
