Man accused of stealing boat while intoxicated

A St. Louis man is accused of stealing a boat on Kentucky Lake after going for an intoxicated joy ride.

On Saturday. August 10, deputy William Strader was dispatched to investigate a stolen boat on Kentucky Lake.

The caller said Ryan M. Harmon, 23, of Lake St. Louis and another person was staying at his home.

The caller said Harmon and another person took the keys to the boat without his knowledge.

The called told police that Harmon was very intoxicated right before he noticed the boat was gone.

Deputy Strader along with the Marshall County Rescue Squad found the boat wrecked at the mouth of the Rock Quarry.

The passenger of the boat needed medical attention and was taken to get it.

According to the Marshall County Sheriff's Office, Harmon was obviously under the influence of alcohol at the time.

Harmon was arrested and charged with theft by unlawful taking and alcohol intoxication in a public place.
