OAK RIDGE, MO (KFVS) -

Sheriff's Deputies are still investigating damage to a Cape Girardeau County bridge on County Road 459 near Oak Ridge.

The bridge was closed by the Highway Department for repairs, but is back open.

However, police believe they know what happened to the Cape Girardeau County bridge.

According to the sheriff's department, deputies believe kids playing with homemade explosives are likely responsible for the damage on the bridge. They are still looking for suspects.

The A.T.F. was called in to assist in the investigation.

Neighbors report hearing a loud noise sometime early Sunday morning.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at 573-243-3551.
