SCOTT COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -

Deborah Huffman says the pain of losing a loved one is devastating.

“Any death is a sad thing,” Huffman said. “It’s very trying. It’s a very emotional thing. But this wasn’t natural. This is what was inflicted on her. It was not something she asked for.”

On Wednesday, police found a woman’s body in a burned car in a Scott County cornfield.

Huffman says the memories of her loved one will always be in her heart.

“No one deserves to die, no one deserves to be murdered, but no one deserves this,” Huffman said. “She was a loving woman. She loved rain, she loved Mexican food, one of her favorite groups was CCR.”

Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter says the investigation is ongoing, but Huffman says she wants answers.

“We do want resolutions,” Huffman said. “What do we hope for? I would say justice but when someone is murdered, and especially murdered and destroyed in this way, there is no justice. I can never get her justice, no matter the outcome.”

The Scott County coroner has not yet confirmed the name of the victim.

The coroner says he expects DNA test results of the body to be in later this week.
