Illinois adds W. Kentucky, Middle Tennessee games

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (AP) - Illinois has added games against a pair of non-BCS schools for the 2015 and 2017 seasons.

The Illini announced Friday they'll host Middle Tennessee State on Sept. 26, 2015, and Western Kentucky on Sept. 16, 2017.

The Blue Raiders were 8-4 last season. The Hilltoppers were 7-6.

Illinois doesn't have much football history with Middle Tennessee and none with Western Kentucky.

The Illini have played Middle Tennessee twice in the past and won both. Western Kentucky is already on Illinois' 2014 schedule but the teams have never played.

The addition of Middle Tennessee leaves just one open date on Illinois' 2015 schedule. The 2017 schedule still has three open dates.
