SCOTT COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -

One of the southbound lanes of Interstate 55 is blocked after a crash near the 73 mile marker.

Emergency crews on the scene say the driver of a Maroon Nissan with four passengers lost control of the car and hydroplaned. The car hit the barrier cable and spun around to face the opposite direction. The occupants of the car were able to get the car off to the right side of the road.

Just after the first crash, the driver of a dark blue car saw the first wreck and tried to slow down, but hydroplaned. That car smashed into the barrier cable.

No one was injured in either of those wrecks.

Traffic is backed up in the southbound lanes.

A third crash happened in the northbound lanes of I-55 near the 76 mile marker. The driver was in passing lane and hydroplaned. The vehicle went off the road, overcorrected and went off other side where it hit the grass and flipped.

The driver was taken to the hospital as a precaution.

Another crash happened on the Diversion Channel bridge over I-55. No word on any injuries in that crash.
