SIKESTON, MO (KFVS) -

A standoff in Sikeston brought out the Sikeston Department of Public Safety and tactical squad.

DPS Captain Jim McMillen says a man who had been holed up for several hours with a weapon came out of a house on Ruth Street and surrendered.

McMillen did not say why he was holed up in the house, but says now he may undergo evaluations for his well-being.

The man is not facing charges at this time.

At one time, DPS and tactical squad officers had the home surrounded.

No one got hurt.
