Food pantry in Cape Girardeau running low on food

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -

The FISH food pantry in Cape Girardeau is looking for help.

They say they are low on food supplies and are already tapping into their reserves. The FISH food pantry board president told us that during the summer months, it's hard to keep food on their shelves. This year however, they have been using their reserved money to buy non-perishable foods to help keep some foods in stock.

"Our reserves is dwindling," said FISH food pantry President Jim Sanderson. "We spend more for food then we get in contributions."

Sanderson said on average, they help up to 200 families a month. They need more food to make sure they have enough for the people they help out in Cape Girardeau. Sanderson said any help would be appreciated.
