Man from England kayaking for a cause

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -

A kayaker is paddling down the Mississippi River from Minnesota to the Gulf Of Mexico, all for a good cause.

Wayne O'Brien, 55, of Warrington, England is raising money for the charity "Help for Heroes."

The organization works to rehabilitate and support service members of the British Armed Forces.

Our cameras caught up to him as he stopped in Cape Girardeau to grab a bite to eat.

"They've lost limbs and they've got great challenges ahead that might last them a lifetime and however hard this is for me, and it's really hard to be honest," said O'Brien. "I find it really difficult. It's nothing compared to what these people are going through."

If you would like to donate, you can find out how by logging onto facebook and searching for O'Brien's "Kayak the Mighty Mississippi" page.
