MT. CARMEL, IL (WFIE) -

14 News is learning more about the Tri-State woman who was allegedly involved in the latest Anthony Weiner sexting scandal.

The New York mayoral candidate says there were, at most, three women he sent explicit messages to, but the only one named so far has been 23-year-old Sydney Leathers of Princeton.

We now know that Sydney Leathers is in Los Angeles and has already completed an interview with Inside Edition. Now, at least one man who has been in contact with Leathers says she's planning to capitalize on this scandal.

"Her exposing the story isn't really a big surprise to me," says Ryan Hinderliter. "I always felt like she liked attention."

Ryan was in the same high school class as Sydney at Mt. Carmel High School, and he says Sydney has always been outgoing and outspoken.

"I remember a few months ago, she said she had this big secret," says Ryan. "Said she could ruin somebody's life. I was wondering what it was, and this could've been what she was talking about."

On Thursday, we went to the home of Sydney's mother, Laura Leathers. One man claiming to be Sydney's brother answered the door, but had no comment.

Meanwhile, Weiner answered questions regarding the scandal during a campaign stop.

"I brought it upon myself," says Weiner. "I have no one to blame for this situation, but me."

Following those remarks, an acquaintance of Sydney, Lou Colagiovanni, told CNN he would do an interview since Sydney was no longer willing to partner with him to capitalize on the scandal. Lou didn't mince words when discussing Weiner's role.

"He manipulated her in a way to where she believed that they were in love, that he cared about her, that he was going to provide for her in the future," says Lou. "This idea that Anthony Weiner somehow reformed or that he somehow is sorry for what he did is not true. He's sorry, just like every other person who's been sorry when they get caught with their hand in the cookie jar."

Sydney now has an email account, on her Twitter, where you can book her for an interview.
