CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -

A Cape Girardeau woman has died after being hit by a vehicle on Friday morning.

It happened shortly before 8 a.m. in the 600 block of North Fountain Street.

According to Cape Girardeau police, when officers arrived at the scene, they found Jody L. Lane, 43, of Cape Girardeau had been hit by a vehicle.

Lane was taken to a local hospital and died.

The driver of the vehicle was taken into custody at the scene.

Angelia J. Hanson, 29, was charged with involuntary manslaughter in the 1st degree by driving over her with a motor vehicle. Her bond has been set at $100,000 cash or surety.

According to a probable cause statement, Hanson got into an argument with Lane while they were in an SUV.

Investigators say Lane pulled back into a driveway to let Hanson drive.

Police say Hanson threw the vehicle into reverse and drove off.

According to court documents, Hanson actually drove over lane, killing her.

Police say Hanson and Lane were living together at a home on North Fountain where the crash happened.
