AVA, IL (KFVS) -

We’ve all likely been on a phone call that either you can’t hear or someone else can’t hear you. Telepal promises to amplify every phone call on any phone, but Does it Work?

"There have been times when I couldn't hear them at all," said Margaret Edgar. "They could hear me but I couldn't hear them."

Margaret Edgar says she has trouble hearing on her iPhone often.

"There have been times when I've had to put it on speaker phone to hear people and I don't like speaker phone," said Margaret.

The Telepal could be just what Margaret's been searching for. It claims to significantly increase the volume of any telephone. At first glance, you can see there's nothing too fancy about this product or the packaging, although a battery is included.

"Place the telephone amplifier on top of the telephone handset and adjust the volume to loud," said Margaret.

Margaret straps on the rubber belt. It goes on easy, but she quickly notices the Telepal looks a little odd.

“Considering how small some of these cell phones are, it's wider,” noticed Margaret.

Although not so pretty to the eye, Margaret is hoping for better luck with the ear. Margaret chats with her husband outside and isn't too pleased with her results.

"I can hear you, you're just not real loud," said Margaret. “Maybe it's up too loud.”

Margaret realizes she has the volume on max and turns it down a bit and tries again.

“Ok now talk, said Margaret to her husband. “You’re louder, it was adjusted too loud. You're real good now.”

So it does work, but in a world where convenience is everything, Margaret says she's not amped about this amplifier.  The Telepal gets a C+ on the Does it Work test.
