Fire crews put out a fire on the roof of a building on the Southeast Missouri State University campus this afternoon. Todd Tumminia was on the scene and will have more, tonight on Heartland News at 9 and 10.

A Poplar Bluff man who pleaded guilty to federal child exploitation was sentenced to 120 years in prison today. Jeffrey D. Shelton, 46, pleaded guilty to attempted production of child pornography, production of child pornography and possession of child pornography on April 17.

Gov. Pat Quinn, state and local officials broke ground today on a $10.6 million Interstate 57 widening project near Marion. Arnold Wyrick was there for the ceremony. You can click here for more.

The public is being asked to stay off the new U.S. 60 Tennessee River Bridge at Ledbetter. Authorities say several people were reported hiking all terrain vehicles in the bridge construction zone over the weekend.
