A call center in Cape Girardeau announced today they intend to lay off around 420 employees as of Sept. 10. Integrity Solution Services, formerly NARS Call Center, said the company's single client has opted to take its customer service work in house. In national news, the inventor of the iconic party game Twister has died at the age of 82. Charles "Chuck" Foley, the father of 9, died July 1 at a care facility in the Minneapolis suburb of St. Louis Park.

Eight people were injured, three in serious condition, after an explosion and fire in a New York Chinatown building today. Officials say bug bombs stored in the basement of the building caught fire, although it is unclear how.

The man who once claimed to be the Boston Strangler has been linked to one of the 11 victims by DNA evidence for the first time, leading to the planned exhumation of his remains and perhaps putting to rest some speculation that he wasn't the notorious killer.
