HWY 62 open after wreck

The McCracken County Sheriff’s Department responded to a single vehicle injury collision on HWY 62, just West of the Information Age Park, in West Paducah around 7:00pm.

The initial call stated that there was someone trapped in the vehicle.

Investigators said 18-year-old Sawyer R. Rambo of Cunningham was driving Westbound on HWY 62 in a 2002 Ford Taurus. They said due to the wet roadway surface, he lost control of his vehicle. The vehicle crossed the East bound lane and then rolled down an earth embankment and landed on its roof in the ditch.

Rescue personnel gave Mr. Rambo a knife to cut his seat belt, that was keeping him trapped inside the vehicle. Mr. Rambo was able to exit out the rear window that was broken from the collision.

Mr. Rambo had what appeared to be minor injuries and was transported to an area hospital as a safety precaution.

HWY 62 was blocked for approximately 45 minutes while Randy’s Towing could remove the vehicle from the ditch.

The Sheriff’s Department was assisted on the scene by Concord Fire Dept. and Mercy Ambulance Service.
