The man accused of cattle rustling in the Heartland and across several states entered a guilty plea in Arkansas.

According to victims in the courtroom, 38-year-old Ron Shepard pleaded guilty to six counts of theft involving cattle stolen from the Ash Flat Auction Barn.

The judge sentenced Shepard to five years in prison, and ordered him to pay more than $1 million in restitution for stolen cattle at both Ash Flat and the Batesville auction barn, both owned by Mike Nix and his family.
