CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -

A house fire on Sprigg Street in Cape Girardeau is currently under investigation.

According to the Cape Girardeau Fire Department, the call for the fire at 1005 South Sprigg came in just after 3 a.m Monday.

There was no one inside when the department arrived on scene.

Only one person is known to have been inside and there are no injuries being reported.

The house was engulfed in flames and officials were worried about two buildings on either side of the of the house.

The fire was reportedly contained to the source. 

Extensive damage was done to the house.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
