CBS sun art display in Ste. Genevieve

STE. GENEVIEVE, MO (KFVS) -

The sun's shining bright in Ste. Genevieve thanks to one art exhibit.

Members of the Ste. Genevieve Art Guild made 52-sun images inspired by the CBS Sunday Morning show.

The 52-images represent one sun for every Sunday show of the year.

You can see it downtown at the guild's gallery at 109 North Main.

"Yeah, we were quite surprised by it," said Carolyn Bach, organizer. "I think just the fact that people were familiar with the CBS Sunday Morning show and thought maybe their art might appear on TV was a stimulus for people to come up with things so it was really a lot of fun."

One organizer says she's surprised at how popular the display has become.

The sun art includes traditional forms such as oil, acrylic and watercolor paintings and pastel drawings, as well as suns created from textiles and clay.
