Benton man arrested after stolen vehicle police chase

A Benton man faces several charges after police say he stole a vehicle and led police on a chase.

Michael O. Glover, 35, of Benton, was charged with theft by unlawful taking-auto, fleeing or evading police, criminal mischief 2nd degree, driving DUI suspended and operating on a suspended or revoked operators license.

Deputies were investigating the stolen vehicle on Tuesday when they found someone driving it on US 68 W toward Draffenville, Kentucky.

A deputy got behind the vehicle and activated his blue lights near the high school. That's when police say the suspect sped away. The chase ended at the Marshall County soccer fields.

Glover was found in a creek.

Glover had a suspended license and prior driving DUI suspended license. Glover admitted to stealing the vehicle, according to the Marshall County Sheriff's Office.

The vehicle was damaged.

Glover was taken to the Marshall County Detention Center.
