MEMPHIS, TN -

(WMC-TV) - None of the children involved in the car accident that killed an infant were properly restrained in the vehicle.

Six-month-old Jamayia Smallie was pronounced dead on the scene of the crash that happened early Tuesday morning at the intersection of Winchester Road and Swinnea Road.

A 4-year-old remains in critical condition at LeBonheur Children's Hospital. Two other kids, both 2 years old, were injured but are in non-critical condition.

According to investigators, the infant that was killed was in a carseat but that carseat was not properly restrained, but instead being held in place by another passenger.

In addition to the children, a 27-year-old and 21-year-old were taken to The MED in critical condition. The driver of the vehicle was taken to the hospital as well, but was not critically injured.

Investigators say the Pontiac Sunbird, which was carrying a total of seven people, swerved into oncoming traffic colliding with a pickup truck. The driver of the truck was taken to The MED in non-critical condition.

No citations or arrests have been made at this time.
