VANDUSER, MO (KFVS) -

A large field fire near Vanduser Monday evening is out now after burning over 30 acres of cut and uncut wheat, and causing a car crash on Hwy. Z.

According to Scott County Fire Chief Scott Perrien, a fire burned the wheat field, a ditch and tree bank around 7 p.m. Monday. He said a brand new combine was burned in the fire.

Perrien said smoke from the fire caused zero visibility on Highway Z, resulting in a semi vs. car crash. No one was injured and the car was towed away from the scene.

He asks farmers to use caution when burning fields. He said this is the second field fire in the county on Monday that has gotten out of control.
