ST. LOUIS (KFVS) -

A Fruitland youngster's spirits were lifted when he met a few of his heroes.

Devyn Haupt was at Cardinal Glennon Hospital in St. Louis for a doctor visit.

Thursday afternoon he stepped out of an elevator and stood face to face with Cardinal players Matt Adams and Jason Motte.

Motte autographed a stuffed bear, and even took the time to talk a little baseball with Devyn.

"It means a lot to the little kids," said Kim Haupt, Devyn's mom. "There were several that were in the hospital and got signed bats, pillows, and shirts. Just all kinds of stuff. For them to take time out of their busy schedules to come see the kids, it means a lot."

"I just want to go back and find him and tell him thank you," Devyn said.

Devyn and the Cardinals closer even talked a little baseball during their visit.
