CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -

Antique store owners and police need your help finding two women suspected of stealing.

Downtown Cape Girardeau store owners and police suspect the two women are stealing items from one store and trying to sell them to another.

Darin Hickey with the Cape Girardeau Police Department says the suspects are both white females, one appearing to be in her 50's while the other appears to be in her 20's.

They also believe the two were in a silver car.

Paula Haas at Somewhere in Time Antiques said she tries to watch people in her store, but can still have thefts.

She said it makes her mad.

“It is so frustrating because we are mom and pop operations," Haas said. "We’re not the Wal-Mart’s of the world, and we I’ll use the word fight, we work so hard to get people to downtown in Cape to see what a great place we are, and if you have things like this and they say 'Oh well there must be thieves on the street.' So we are constantly fighting to let people know we’re a great place. So it’s frustrating for us. Plus we’re not million dollar operations, and we need the business, and we want the business and the people.”

Haas said they have a great community downtown and try to share information among store owners.

“If we don’t work together, we’re all going to lose," Haas said. "That’s the main thing. The second thing is we are very good to say when people come to town. There are ten of us, and we want you to see us all, so we like to share our community I guess, but we have to spread the word, to each other about the good and the bad.”

If you think you’ve seen the two women, contact the Cape Girardeau Police Department.
