GRAVES COUNTY, KY (KFVS) -

A Mayfield man on the run from police for nearly two weeks is now behind bars.

Graves County deputies arrested 36-year-old Thad Skaggs Tuesday. He was wanted on numerous warrants in connection with a police pursuit through Pottsville and Lowes on June 6.

The pursuit began after someone reported a vehicle doing donuts in a church parking lot. When deputies arrived at the church, Skaggs allegedly sped away in the car. During the chase, the vehicle ran off the road into a field where Skaggs reportedly fled on foot.

Police received several calls from the public regarding Skaggs. One tip helped lead police to a gas station in Kaler on Tuesday around 4:30 p.m. Deputies say they spotted Skaggs in the passenger seat of a vehicle parked at one of the gas pumps.

“One of those tips paid off today and we were able to locate and arrest Skaggs safely,” said Sheriff Dewayne Redmon.

Skaggs was taken into custody without further incident and taken to the Graves County Jail on a long list of charges connected to the police chase, failure to appear in court, and the alleged passing of stolen checks.

Skaggs also faces drug charges for allegedly being in possession of methamphetamine at the time of his arrest.
