Names released of Perry County couple found dead

Posted: Updated:
PERRY COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -

The names of the man and woman found dead from gunshot wounds on Friday have been released.

Perry County Sheriff Gary Schaaf says the two shooting victims from the incident on Highway E in Perry County were identified as 36-year-old Shawn J. Galeski, of 3247 Highway E and his girlfriend, 29-year-old Jamie L. (Ferguson) Cole of Perryville.

"It took a little while to identify who Cole's relatives were," said Schaaf. "But we were able to identify them, and they were notified later that evening."

Schaaf says the incident took place in a locked upstairs room, and probably occurred sometime early Friday morning based on the condition of the bodies.

Schaaf says at approximately 2:14 p.m., the sheriff's office got a report of two people found dead at a home on Highway E in Perry County.

Officers along with the county coroner responded to the scene and found a man and woman dead, each from a single gunshot wound to the head.

"Initially, it appears to have been a murder-suicide," said Schaaf. "But we are still investigating the incident."

New federal regulations have changed what many kids who attend public schools eat for lunch at school. However, some area private schools don't have to follow those rules and have come up with their own new school lunch program.
