MARION, IL (KFVS) -

Detectives are searching for a woman who is considered a person of interest in connection to theft in Marion, Illinois.

Investigators say on May 23 around 2 p.m., a purse was left in a shopping cart at the Marion Walmart parking lot.

The purse was turned in by the woman who is considered the person of interest. Detectives say some money was removed from the purse.

The Marion Police Department is looking to identify the woman who turned in the purse.
