A Kentucky man faces numerous charges after speeding away from a safety checkpoint Saturday night.
31-year-old Cornelius Hill from La Center sped away from the checkpoint on Highway 305 in McCracken County after troopers asked him to step out of his vehicle for a sobriety test.
Police say during the chase Hill ran through a ditch and a gas station parking lot before wrecking his vehicle. After wrecking, Hill tried to flee on foot before a trooper used a taser on him.
Hill was sent to the hospital for a checkup and then locked up in the McCracken County Jail.
