CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - Some pre-k students from Fruitland made a very special trip to the doctor's office Tuesday morning.
Twenty-one students and their teddy bears spent the morning at Southeast Health's west campus.
Their bears had a few minor procedures including shots, splints, and a few bandages.
"We have a lot of teddy bears that had headaches and stomach aches," said Dr. Danette Miller with Southeast Health. "Sometimes they have knee pain and hand pain. And sometime teddy bears just feel fine but they just need to get their shots and vaccines just like kids do so we'll treat them for that too."
Organizers say it's important that these kids learn the doctor's office isn't a scary place.
They'd like to offer a similar clinic again in the future.
