JACKSON, MO (KFVS) -

Some natural birthing methods focus on making the man's role a key part of those nine months; and just one reason why more Heartland moms are turning to this drug-free way to deliver.

There's a lot of love in the Utchman House. Matt and Brooke believe a big part of that feeling of being complete comes from how they chose to bring their children into the world.

"It was just fun because I was able to support her and learn about what the whole process looked like," Matt Utchman said.

They chose a form of natural birth known as the Bradley Method. It focuses on husbands playing a big part of the process.

"My instructor told me he could do everything but push the baby out," Brooke Utchman said.

The Utchmans explain the Bradley Method taught them how to bring Madison and Avery into the world as a team through a drug-free natural child birth.

"We worked together and we planned," Matt said.

Brooke said they learned exactly what changes her body would be going through. Matt helped her stay focused on nutrition and exercise and what she needed to do to stay healthy.

"We knew the healthier she was, the healthier the babies were gonna be and we've seen it and I'd say that way my role to guide and direct some of that because she had enough to worry about," Matt Utchman said.

With Matt as support, Brooke said she used relaxation techniques to deal with pain; focused on birth as an amazing experience.

"Hands down, bar none, there is nothing better than seeing your child and giving birth and knowing that you gave them the best possible start to life," Brooke said.

They say it becomes more about the miracle instead of the stress.

"The knowledge took the fear away," Matt said.

Brook said giving birth was so empowering, she wanted to share her experience with other women. So, she decided to become an instructor. She said these pictures of other families mean the world to her.

"All these moms and dads come back holding these wonderful babies and you can see they are so proud of themselves," she said.

And as for Matt, he said being a good husband and father means everything to him; and there's nothing like the feeling of helping to bring your children into the world.

Some women choose a hospital birth and others choose to deliver at home. Moms and medical professionals say you should do a lot of research before you decide if a natural pregnancy is right for you.
