The East Prairie Police Department is warning residents about what they are calling a "phone scam" in the area.
According to Officer Matt Brown, the caller is posing as a Publishers Clearing House Representative using the name Mr. Baker.
The caller is asking residents for bank account information, date of birth and social security number information.
Police say several home owners have been called. Officer Brown is reminding residents not to share personal information over the phone.
Anyone with information is asked to call East Prairie police at 573-649-3511.
