CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - Hundreds of people came out to the 25th annual Multiple Sclerosis walk in Cape Girardeau Sunday to support the cause.
Their goal of 450 participants was met and exceeded. They raised $40,000 dollars at this event which goes back into programs and services in southern Illinois and southeast Missouri.
Funds raised give hope to more than 7,000 people living with MS in the community. They have been walking since 1988 and have raised more than $10 million to help support people living with MS.
Lunch was provided by Great boars of Fire out of Cobden, Ill. before participants walked the non-competitive 1 and 2 mile walks.
On Saturday, they held the 5th Annual Carbondale MS walk in which more than 350 participants helped raise $35,000.
