DEXTER, MO (KFVS) -

Hundreds of people and families were welcomed Saturday with laundry baskets full of love.

The collection started at 8 a.m. in Dexter. Baskets of Love volunteers went from house to house with laundry baskets with cleaning supplies and hygiene products.

They delivered over 300 baskets to needy people in the communities of East Prairie, Dexter, New Madrid, Bernie and Charleston. They call this event Spring Clean 2013.

Volunteers and UPS drivers volunteered their time and trucks to help deliver these baskets full of gifts.

Volunteer Taylor Fuel said, "Some of these people even cried, they were so grateful."

Fuel said it was great to see people smile when they received their basket. All items were bought with donations from the community.
