Carbondale police investigate beating, robbery

CARBONDALE, IL (KFVS) -

Carbondale police are investigating a beating and robbery that they say happened Sunday around 10:45 p.m.

Officers say they responded to the call in 900 block of East Walnut Street.

Police say the victim was beaten by an unknown suspect who also took items from the victim. 

The victim was treated at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale for non-life threatening injuries. 

The suspect was described as a 19-20 year old black male, 5'10" – 6' tall, with a stocky build and short hair.

Police say the suspect was last seen wearing a white shirt under a black jacket and black pants. 

The investigation into the incident is continuing.
