3 injured in wreck during police pursuit in Stoddard County

PAINTON, MO (KFVS) - Three people were injured after the car they were in crashed during a police pursuit Sunday afternoon in Stoddard County.

It happened shortly before 1 p.m. on Highway O, one mile west of Painton.

According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, a Chevrolet Cavalier driven eastbound by Curtis M. Cureton, 39, of Bell City, was being pursued by state police when the car ran off the road, hit a culvert and overturned.

Curtis along with a 16-year-old male passenger from Bell City and an 18-year-old female passenger from Chaffee all received moderate injuries.

The three were taken to a Cape Girardeau hospital by EMS.
