12-year-old girl safe in Texas, had Ill. AMBER Alert this weekend

CHICAGO (KFVS) - A girl is back in Texas after quite a weekend.

According to Cedar Hill police, detectives have returned to Texas with Sommer Brown-Ivory. The Fishers Indiana Police Department assisted with her safe return.

An Illinois AMBER Alert was issued for the girl on Saturday and canceled on Saturday night.

The 12-year-old was placed into the custody of Dallas Child Protective Services.

The suspect, Lisa Elizabeth Brown, the girl's mother, was in an Indiana jail facility pending extradition to Texas.

An officer near Indianapolis, Indiana located a vehicle matching the description of the 2006 Ford Expedition that Sommer Brown-Ivory and Lisa Brown were described to be traveling in.

The officer watched the SUV for a moment before pulling them over.

Lisa Elizabeth Brown was arrested and Summer Brown-Ivory is safe and was being brought back to her home in Cedar Hill, Texas.

The Cedar Hill Police Department is working very closely with the Dallas Federal Bureau of Investigation to pursue federal criminal charges on the suspect.

Police are working with the Dallas FBI to assist in the filing of federal criminal charges.

An Illinois AMBER Alert was activated on Saturday night for the Cedar Hill Police Department in Texas to assist them in their investigation which happened in Texas.

The child and suspect were traveling in a 2006 Ford Expedition with Texas license plates.

Authorities said they were possibly on their way to the Chicago, Illinois area.

The Cedar Hill Police Department, FBI, Indiana State Police, Illinois State Police, and other local Law Enforcement agencies worked together throughout the night to locate the missing child and suspect in Fishers, Indiana. Several Law Enforcement Agencies are working together to return the child to Texas.
