MALDEN, MO (KFVS) - Malden Police Chief says a man was taken into custody in connection to a shooting in Howardville on Wednesday.
Officers say the shooting happened between 8:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. Wednesday at an apartment complex. One person, a male, was injured and taken to the hospital.
The chief says his department got word that a suspect, Stephen Polk, was in Malden area on Thursday.
Police went to an apartment on Blades Drive in Malden and found Polk and he was taken into custody.
Polk was charged with assault first degree and armed criminal action.
He was jailed in New Madrid County on $100,000 bond.
Polk is due in court on Monday at 9 a.m. in New Madrid County.
