Man charged after being found asleep in Cape Girardeau business

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - A Chaffee man is facing charges after being found asleep early Friday morning in a Cape Girardeau business.

According to Patrolman Darin Hickey, around 6 a.m., officers were called to Hutson's Fine Furniture in downtown Cape Girardeau.

An employee told police the front glass of the business was broken out.

Officers went inside and found a man sleeping on a sofa.

They also found a sofa/love seat and a table had been damaged.

Jordan D. White, 21, from Chaffee was charged with class C felony second degree burglary and class D felony first degree property damage.

He was being held on $12,500 cash or surety bond.
