ALEXANDER COUNTY, IL (KFVS) - An early morning crash on Route 3 in Alexander County has caused a diesel spill.

Horeshoe Lake fire officials say a truck carrying 150 gallons of diesel fuel crashed into a guard rail.

The fuel is now leaking all over the road according to crews on the scene.

The crash happened about 3 miles south of Olive Branch.

Emergency officials are waiting for hazmat crews to arrive and clean up.

Fire Chief Anthony Smith says the road is down to one lane at this time and will probably be completely shut down for a while later Thursday morning.
