Prosecutor seeks death penalty in Advance murder

    According to Stoddard County Prosecuting Attorney Russ Oliver, 29-year-old Matthew Cook and 45-year-old Glen Evans now face charges of first degree murder, armed criminal action, and first degree robbery.

DEXTER, MO (KFVS) -

Court papers show the Stoddard County prosecutor's office has filed and plans to seek the death penalty for a man accused of murder in Advance.

A statement of intention to request the Death Penalty against Matthew Cook was filed by Russ Oliver on Wednesday morning. 

Matthew Cook is accused of murdering Shawn Crow. 

Cook, 29, of Dexter, is facing murder first degree, armed criminal action and robbery charges.

According to court documents, Crow was shot to death.

Crow's body was discovered  in a red pickup truck outside the Advance, Missouri, McDonald's.

Cook's next court date is April 11th at 9 a.m., for a motion hearing.
