Texting by the pilot of a medical helicopter contributed to a crash that killed four people, federal accident investigators declared today. The helicopter ran out of fuel, crashing into a farm field early on the evening of Aug. 26, 2011, near Mosby, Mo., a little over a mile short of an airport.

Christy Millweard talked to officials today on the dangers of distracted driving after a three-judge panel ruled that using maps offered on smartphones falls under a law against texting and driving that causes distracted driving.

Red Cross volunteers responded to an apartment fire on the corner of Matthews and Main Street in Sikeston that affected six separate units. One man has been charged with arson, domestic assault and felonious restraint after officers say an argument late Monday night led to the fire.

The Missouri Farm Bureau held their Youth Leadership Day recently in Jefferson City, Mo. around 335 students and chaperones from 55 counties attended the Leadership Day.

In national news, multiple people have been injured and one student is in custody after stabbings on the campus of Lone Star College Cy-Fair. Reports say that as many as 14 people were stabbed, but details are still emerging.
