Employee prevents possible robbery in Paducah

PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) - An employee stopped a possible robbery Monday afternoon at a business in Paducah.

Paducah police were called to the scene of a robbery in progress at Easy Money Shoppe around 4:30 p.m.

According to Paducah police, the store manager said her co-worker had seen a man coming around the building, wearing a hoodie and a bandana covering part of his face.

The woman then locked the front door.

The man tried to open the door several times but went back around the side of the building when he couldn't get it open.

The man was described as being thin, wearing a black or blue hoodie and dark glasses with a blue bandana covering the lower half of his face.

He was wearing brown gloves and the employees said his skin was not visible.

"We don't know what his intention was because he never made it inside the business," said Det. Sgt. Brian Laird.

But Laird went on to say in a press release that the clerk's quick thinking very likely prevented a robbery.

Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to call Paducah Police at 270-444-8550.
