Illinois Search and Rescue team expands into SE Mo.

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -

Little Egypt Search and Rescue's dog team trained at Cape County Park expanding into Missouri on Saturday.

According to their website, LESAR is an independent volunteer search and rescue team based in southern Illinois that is dedicated to the search for and rescue of lost and-or injured persons.

They recently have expanded to cover southeast Missouri along with Southern Illinois

They focused their efforts on live and remains training with the canines.

After training, they went to Mississippi Mutts in Cape Girardeau for a meet and greet with the public and provide anyone information about their services.

On April 26-28, they will have their 6th annual Search and Rescue Exercise in Dixon Springs, Illinois where they will focusing on different exercises including: rappelling, K-9 field work and ground search.

LESAR has been involved in searches for missing mother of three Jacque Waller.
