2nd complaint filed over Murray State meeting

PADUCAH, Ky. (AP) - A second complaint has been filed over a Murray State Board of Regents gathering on the eve before their vote not to renew President Randy Dunn's contract.

The Paducah Sun reports  Ann Beck, an associate professor, filed the complaint with the board of regents Chairman Constantine Curris on March 27.

Her complaint alleges that the social gathering held on March 14 may have violated open meeting laws. The next day, the regents voted at their regular quarterly board meeting not to renew Dunn's contract, which will end after the 2013-2014 academic year.

University general counsel John Rall said in a response to Beck's complaint that the board complied with the state's open meetings law.

Beck said she plans to appeal the decision to the state attorney general's office.
