Crews search for missing Cairo woman

CAIRO, IL (KFVS) - Search crews are still on the lookout for a missing woman around Cairo, Illinois.

Alexander County Emergency Management Director Jerry Held says crews are looking for 55-year-old Sandra Farris.

Family members say Farris went missing Thursday afternoon after she went for a walk between 12:30 and 12:45 p.m.

"I was looking at facebook and she walked out the door saying she was going for walk," Shelly Pearman, a niece of Farris, said. "That was the last time I saw her."

Farris is described as 5'6" and 136 pounds with brown hair and green eyes.

"You are always looking," Donna Pearman, a sister of Farris said. "Who took her? Why? What's going on here."

She was last seen wearing a white Hollister hoodie with gold letters and blue jeans.

Held says Farris last seen on 27th and Park Ave. in Cairo on Thursday around 2 p.m.

"She's sweet, very caring, quiet, funny. Just a great person," Shelly Pearman said. "We love her and we miss her."

Crews on four-wheelers searched 22 miles on Saturday. Those searching were made up of volunteers, Cairo Fire Department firefighters and emergency management teams.

Farris' twin brother, Kenny, went missing 2 years ago. Family members say this brings back those feeling.

"We never got closure with Kenny," Donna Pearman said.
