VICKSBURG, Miss. (AP) - The Mississippi River Commission will begin its annual high-water inspection trip on the Mississippi River on April 8.
The commission will hold four public meetings aboard the Motor Vessel Mississippi.
The meetings and locations are:
- April 8 at 9 a.m. at the city front in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
- April 9 at 9 a.m. at the Beale Street Landing in Memphis, Tenn.
- April 11 at 9 a.m. at the city front in Natchez, Miss.
- April 12 at 9 a.m. at Ingram Capital Fleet in Baton Rouge, La.
The commission expects to discuss water resources infrastructure needs in the valley, including flood control and the Mississippi River and Tributaries project, environmental issues, recreation and navigation.
