CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - Missouri Governor Jay Nixon will be in Cape Girardeau on Friday to sign tax legislation that helps charitable organizations raise private donations.
Nixon plans to sign the legislation at 10:15 a.m.
According to the governor's office, Nixon will sign the legislation at the Southeast Missouri Food Bank on Nash Road.
Senate Bill 20, according to Nixon, will help organizations like the food bank by re authorizing targeted state tax credits for contributions.
Other organizations affected by the legislation will be child advocacy centers and court-appointed special avocation for assisting children who are victims of abuse and neglect.
