NEW MADRID COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - The southbound lanes of Interstate 55 were moving slowly Wednesday morning after a rollover crash near the 62.6 mile marker injured two people.
The black Nissan Versa was driving in the passing lane when the driver lost control, went airborne and overturned in the St. John's Bayou Creek, according to the Missouri Highway Patrol.
The vehicle was partially submerged in the creek.
Kristina I. Stanley, 22, of Overland Park, Kansas and Andrionna M. Hensley, 23, of Lees Summit, Missouri were seriously injured in the crash.

A wrecker pulled the car out of the creek.
Interstate 55 was shutdown between exits 66B and 58 exit (Matthews) for a bit while crews responded to the scene.
Both of the people in the car were wearing their seatbelts, according to the Missouri Highway Patrol.
