PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) -
Paducah police say four people face drug charges and more than $18,000
was seized after a tip was received Wednesday evening from Kentucky
State Police.
Henry J. Wilkey, 34, of Paducah, was charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.
Savannah K. Travis, 28, of Calvert City, was charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance.
Shaun E. Hunter, 29, of Smithland, was charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine – more than two grams) and possession of marijuana.
Destry L. Carter, 18, of Paducah, was charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and possession of marijuana.
Det. Sgt. Will Gilbert, commander of the Drug and Vice Enforcement Unit said he was contacted about 8 p.m. Wednesday by DESI investigators about drug trafficking at a house in the 900 block of North 21st St.
Officers served a search warrant Wednesday night and found several grams of methamphetamine and items of drug paraphernalia, including scales, pipes and small plastic bags.
The officers say they found about $18,000 hidden in different locations, including behind a wall mirror.
Wilkey and Travis were arrested at the home.
The investigation continued, and led to a hotel in the area of Interstate 24 and Hinkleville Road.
A search warrant was served at a room of the hotel, where investigators arrested Hunter and Carter at 6:15 a.m. on Thursday.
Gilbert said officers found about three grams of methamphetamine, marijuana and a mixture of pills in the room. They also seized $520 cash from Hunter.
The four were taken to the McCracken County Jail.
