PERRY COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -

Crews rescued a man and his car from the flooded PCR 810 Bridge over Saline Creek on Sunday.

A call came in around 5:04 p.m. that a vehicle had stalled in the water on the bridge over Saline Creek.

According to the Perry County Sheriff's Office, officers found Andrew Jokerst, 27 of Sainte Genevieve, sitting in his car in the middle of the bridge.

Jokerst's car had apparently stalled out in the high water that was running over the bridge.

Perry County Rural Fire Department crews were able to get Jokerst out of his car and back to dry ground.

A tow truck was able to get the car off the bridge.

Perry County Sheriff Gary J. Schaaf says Jokerst was lucky and that the incident could have easily been more dangerous.

Schaaf warns drivers to never attempt to drive through moving floodwater or through areas with high levels of water.
