CHICAGO (AP) - The Illinois Lottery says the winners of a $1 million prize that had gone unclaimed for nearly a year have come forward - and just in the nick of time.
Lottery Superintendent Michael Jones says an attorney for the three Chicago-area winners claimed the prize Thursday. They had just three days to go before the ticket expired.
Jones says the winning $1 million St. Patrick's Day Millionaire Raffle ticket was sold last year in the Chicago suburb of Wood Dale. He says the three winners are all related.
There were still 27 prizes of $1,000 each from that raffle that had not been claimed.
